Who It Is For
Older adults, people with low digital confidence, families, carers, and anyone who has been targeted or is at risk from online scams, deepfake fraud, or AI-enabled manipulation.
What the Sessions Cover
- How to spot a deepfake video, image, or voice.
- Recognising AI-generated scam messages and fraudulent advertisements.
- What to do if you receive a suspicious call, message, or email.
- How to verify identities online and check whether content is real.
- Protecting your accounts, passwords, and personal information.
- Where and how to report fraud and access support.
Programme Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Recognise at least three common AI-enabled scam techniques.
- Use basic verification tools to check whether content is genuine.
- Know the correct steps to report fraud to Action Fraud, their bank, or local authority.
- Demonstrate increased confidence in managing their digital safety (measured by pre/post self-assessment).
- Identify trusted local sources of ongoing advice and support.
How We Measure It
Pre and post-session digital confidence survey (5-point scale). Follow-up check-in at 4 weeks. Completion recorded on participant register.
Delivery
- Format: In-person at community venues (libraries, community centres, job centres).
- Length: 2–3 hours per session.
- Cohort Size: Up to 15 participants.
- Frequency: Twice per month per venue.

Who It Is For
Young adults aged 16–25 who want to understand AI and find where they fit within it — including school leavers, college students, and those not currently in education, employment or training (NEETs). No prior experience with technology is needed, and you do not need to be interested in coding. AI is a much wider field than most people realise, and this programme is built to reflect that.What the Sessions Cover
We start by exploring what AI actually is — how it generates text, images, audio, and video, and where it gets things wrong. From there, participants discover the full range of careers the AI industry needs: from testing and quality assurance, to data organisation, to design, to keeping people safe online, to building the systems themselves. Not all of these require coding. Most of them are genuinely accessible to people starting from scratch.Sessions include:
- How generative AI works — explained without jargon, with live examples.
- The AI landscape: eleven different career areas, and what each one actually involves day to day.
- Find Your AI Path — a short activity helping each person identify the area that best matches their strengths and interests.
- How to spot AI-generated content across text, images, audio, and video.
- Ethical AI: bias, fairness, accountability, and why these questions matter in real life.
- Hands-on taster tasks from different AI career areas — tried on library computers, no specialist equipment needed.
- Honest conversations about what different roles are really like, including the ones that come with challenges.
A Note on Content-Related Roles
One of the eleven pathways we explore — AI Trust and Safety — involves reviewing online content to keep platforms safe. This is a real and growing field, but we are honest with participants that it can involve exposure to disturbing material and requires strong emotional resilience. We discuss this openly in sessions, and no one is pushed toward a pathway that does not feel right for them.Programme Outcomes
Participants will be able to:- Describe in plain language how generative AI creates content and where it can go wrong.
- Identify AI-generated text, images, and audio using at least two practical techniques.
- Name and explain at least three different career areas within AI and technology, including roles that do not require coding.
- Articulate which AI career area best matches their own strengths, and why.
- Complete a beginner-level hands-on task in their identified area of interest.
- Describe the ethical considerations involved in building and deploying AI tools.
How We Measure It
Entry and exit AI literacy self-assessment on a five-point scale across six dimensions. Find Your AI Path results are recorded and reviewed in a short follow-up conversation with the facilitator. A portfolio task is attempted in each participant’s identified area of interest, with progression tracked at three and six months into the Employ programme, further education, apprenticeships, or employment.Delivery
- Format: Workshop series at colleges, libraries, and community venues.
- Length: 4 sessions over 2 weeks (approximately 2.5 hours per session).
- Cohort Size: Up to 15 participants — small enough for genuine attention.
- Cost to Participant: Free.
- Equipment: Delivered on library or venue computers — no personal device required.
- Certificate: AI Literacy Certificate on completion.
- Pathway: Graduates supported into the Employ programme, apprenticeship applications, or further education aligned to their identified area.
Who It Is For
Anyone aged 16 and over who is ready to take a practical step into a tech career. Whether you are just starting out, returning to work, changing direction, or moving on from the Educate programme — if you want real skills, a real portfolio, and a real route into employment, this programme is for you. No prior experience in technology is required.What the Programme Covers
- Data curation and annotation for AI training datasets — hands-on practical work.
- Trust & Safety content review — what it involves, and what employers look for.
- AI quality assurance and model output evaluation.
- Portfolio development: building evidence of skills for entry-level tech applications.
- CV writing, interview preparation, and employer introductions.
- Direct support into job placement with partner employers.
Programme Outcomes
Participants will be able to:- Complete a data curation task to a standard accepted by at least one employer partner.
- Produce a portfolio of work demonstrating AI literacy and Trust & Safety awareness.
- Successfully complete a mock employer interview assessed by an industry professional.
- Achieve at least one of: job offer, interview invitation, further education enrolment, or self-employed engagement within 3 months of completion.
- Report increased confidence in accessing the technology sector (pre/post assessment).

Programme completion rate. Portfolio assessment pass rate. Employment outcomes at 3 and 6 months post-completion. Employer satisfaction rating.Delivery
